Description

Resistor for LED Indicators 21W. This resistor is for motorcycles with a 21W turn signal system.

Important to know:

* You may need resistors and / or LED turn signal relays when adjusting your turn signals.

Question: What is a resistor and why is it used?
A: The resistor is a device that simulates the ohmic resistance of the bulb. † Almost all bicycles with conventional turn signals (bulb) often encounter the problem of faster flash speed when switching from bulb to LED turn signals. The solution to this pending problem is to use resistors or an electronic flashing light relay that returns the flash frequency to normal.

Question: How do I know if I need resistors to mount LED turn signals on my motorcycle?
A: If your motorcycle has factory bulbs and no LEDs, you will probably need to use resistors to fix the fast flash. † Most 2010 models have bulb turn signals, while most bike models after 2010 have LED turn signals.
In the event that your motorcycle has LED cutters from the factory, you do not need any resistors.

Question: What kind of resistance should I select?
A: There are two types of resistors: 21W / 26 Ohm and 10W / 10 Ohm. Select the 21W resistor at a transition from 21W bulb¬ † turn signal to an LED turn signal. Select the 10W resistor at a transition from 10W bulb to an LED turn signal.

Question: How do I know if my indicators have a 21W or a 10W lamp?
A: Most Kawasaki, Suzuki and some old Honda models (ie Africa Twin) have 21 W turn signals while most BMW, Ducati,
Yamaha, KTM models have 10 W turn signals. In any case, you can be sure by opening a turn signal and removing the bulb. The Watt power is stated on the light bulb.

Question: How do I connect the resistor to the LED turn signal?
A: The resistor must be inserted between the wires of the LED turn signal and the wiring of the bicycle. See picture.

Question: If I select the 10W resistor, do I need 1 resistor for each turn signal?
A: Yes, you need 1 resistor for each turn signal. The 10W resistors are sold in pairs.

Question: If I select the 21W resistor, do I need a resistor for each turn signal?
A: No, you need a resistor for each side. For example, the front left and rear left † signals work with the same resistance. It does not matter whether the resistance is mounted on the front or rear turn signal.
The 21 W resistor is sold individually.

Question: What is an LED flashing light relay?
A: The LED flashing light relay is a device that replaces the factory relay and is compatible with LEDs. For some bicycles, you can correct the fast flash by replacing the factory relay with the LED Turn Signal Relay. In this case you do not need resistors.
The electronic indicator relay has 3 pins and fits all bicycles with a factory indicator relay with 2 or 3 pins.

NOTE: Everything mentioned above are general rules for how resistors work. However, there have been cases where the LED¬ † signals have operated normally without the use of resistors or LED relays, while in other cases the combination of both resistors and LED turn signal relays has been required.
In summary, ONLY after installing LED turn signals on your bike, and they don't light up at all, they are very weak, they flash very slowly or very fast, then it is 100% sure that you need resistors and / or an LED turn signal relay have.

* We use the 10W and 21W resistors from us and the LED flashing relay 31-0010
